TOKYO--Capcom Japan is seeking beta testers for its upcoming title, Tekki Taisen, the online version of Steel Battalion. Currently, requests for testers have been made only in Japan and only for the Japanese version. However, Capcom says that beta tests are due to be conducted simultaneously in Japan, North America, and Europe.

Qualifications for joining the Japanese beta team include residency in Japan, ownership of a legitimate e-mail account, possession of an Xbox console and Xbox live account, and a personal copy of the original Tekki (Steel Battalion) game.

Registration for the test opens on September 26 and closes on October 10. Eight hundred "recruits" are being sought for the Japanese version's beta test.
