Tekken 4 release nears

The Japanese release date for Tekken 4 is set.

Namco has announced that it will release Tekken 4 in Japanese arcades on August 1. The company additionally plans to hold an event on September 2 in Japan, titled The King of the Iron Fist 2001 tournament, to commemorate the game's release. Currently, 10 characters--Kazuya Mishima, Steve Fox, Craig Marduk, Yoshimitsu, Ling Xiaoyu, Paul Phoenix, Hwoarang, Marshall Law, King, and Christie Monteiro--have been confirmed for the game. Ten additional fighters will be available as unlockable characters. Tekken 4 will also be released on the Sony PlayStation 2. A North American release date for the arcade version has not been announced at this time.
