Bill Lawrence, the creator of Scrubs and co-creator of Ted Lasso, is staying in business with Apple. He will write and produce a new TV show called Bad Monkey that will star Vince Vaughn, according to a report from Deadline. There will be 10 episodes in the first season.

The show is based on the Carl Hiaasen novel, Bad Monkey, and it has a wild story. Vaughn plays Andrew Yancy, a Florida detective who gets relegated to the role of a restaurant inspector and eventually gets mixed up in something bigger. "A severed arm found by a tourist out fishing pulls Yancy into the world of greed and corruption that decimates the land and environment in both Florida and the Bahamas. And yes, there's a monkey," reads a line from the show's description (via Deadline).

Lawrence seemingly reacted to the news on Twitter. Though he didn't have a lot to say, he seems excited about TV, which is something we can all relate to.

Bad Monkey is in production at Warner Bros. TV, which is the same company behind Ted Lasso, along with Lawrence's Doozer production company. In addition to Scrubs and Ted Lasso, Lawrence is known for the TV shows Ground Floor and Cougar Town.

The announcement of Bad Monkey comes not long after Ted Lasso returned for a second season, and again to much critical acclaim. A third season is expected, but beyond that, we don't know what's planned for the show.
