Dying Light publisher and developer Techland is already thinking about Dying Light 3.

Series Director Tymon Smektała recently tweeted a poll asking the community about a possible new entry--specifically what sort of profession players want for the main protagonist of Dying Light 3.

Smektała started the poll with a disclaimer, noting that the tweet is not a Dying Light 3 announcement. "If we do Dying Light 3, what would you be most excited if the main hero was (as a 'profession'):"

  • Just a survivor
  • Nightrunner
  • Pilgrim
  • GRE Agent (turned good)

Currently, the last option, "GRE Agent (turned good)" is winning the poll, with 42.8% of the votes (out of a total 5,921 votes).

While this doesn't serve as an official announcement for Dying Light 3, it's clear Techland has already begun throwing around ideas for a new entry.

The first Dying Light launched in 2015 and was followed by Dying Light 2 in 2022. The entries have sold over 30 million copies combined, so it wouldn't be surprising to see a third installment sometime later on.

Since Dying Light 2's release in February 2022, Techland has supported it with plenty of additional content. The game's Gut Feeling update launches on April 20, and will feature gameplay improvements and new gear.

Techland served as the developer of 2011's Dead Island before working on the Dying Light series. Dead Island 2, from Dambuster Studios and Deep Silver, is gearing up for launch on April 21.
