Team Soho alum huddles down under
Brendan McNamara re-assembles part of his Getaway development posse to form new Australian studio.
Brendan McNamara, director of the British PS2 hit The Getaway, has made a getaway of his own. The developer left SCEE's London-based Team Soho to form his own development house in his homeland, Australia. Dubbed "Team Bondi," the new studio has been working on a new game for months. "It's nice to be home after so many years abroad," McNamara has reportedly said. "It's made the transition so much easier having some of my friends from The Getaway team here with me and we are all looking forward to the massive challenge of the new title we are planning."
Unfortunately, gamers won't be able to get their hands on Team Bondi's first project for a while. That's because it's "an exciting third generation PlayStation title," meaning it will debut on the PSP or PlayStation 3, which are expected late 2004 and 2005, respectively. However Getaway fans can expect a Team Soho-developed sequel (which will hopefully include a map) sometime in the second half of this year.
