NovaLogic has today announced that Delta Force - Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre is currently in development at Dallas-based Ritual Entertainment. The expansion pack, which is currently scheduled for release early in 2004, was originally being developed internally at NovaLogic.
"When NovaLogic approached us to develop the Team Sabre expansion pack for their number one selling PC title Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, we were delighted and eagerly accepted, as we are all big fans of the title," commented Ritual Entertainment's Richard "Levelord" Gray. "In Team Sabre we intend to deliver the same gripping action and intensity of Delta Force - Black Hawk Down in two potential near-future arenas: the jungles of Colombia and the oil-rich coast of Iran."
We contacted NovaLogic to find out why development on Team Sabre had been moved at such a late stage. "The main reason why Ritual has taken over development on Team Sabre is that our internal team is now ramping up for the final five months on Joint Operations," said Marcus Beer, US PR manager for NovaLogic. "We wanted to make sure that when Team Sabre hits the streets in early 2004 it will be a really high-quality expansion pack. Allowing Ritual to get the title done made good sense to us, as they have a great track record in the genre."
Delta Force - Black Hawk Down: Team Sabre will add a number of new features to the original game, including 10 new single-player missions, two campaign scenarios, new vehicles and weapons, and no fewer than 30 multiplayer maps. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the expansion.
