After making a massive push towards the end of 2013 with the signing of Jeong 'Genius' Min Soo and Kim 'Tassadar' Jung Hoon, LYGF made a statement today on Team Liquid, revealing that the team will be ceasing operations. Reason is the deterioration of owner Pascal Anton's health to such a degree that he is no longer in any position to run the team.

Pascal told onGamers at the end of 2013 that he was looking to be a presence in all of the major WCS regions in 2013. Where the players in question will end up now, remains to be seen as their contracts will run out at the end of the month.

The statement provided by LYGF on Team Liquid can be read in full below:

It is with a tear in our eye and a heavy heart that we must announce the end of the LYGF Team. Our CEO is currently dealing with a terminal heart illness and cannot continue to run the team. While we realize that not everything was perfect in the eyes of the community, we were committed to our players and strove to be the best we could be. We worked hard and were dedicated to bringing our players to the next level. We worked with rising talents like Lucoda, Believe, StuN, Trace, and others while supporting established players like Tassadar, Genius, Mamuri and Neige. We thank our fans for supporting us, through thick and thin, and hope that you all give your thoughts and prayers to Pascal Anton, CEO of LYGF.
