Team Andromeda Lives

Will there ever be a Panzer Dragoon for the Dreamcast? Maybe. Team Andromeda is still alive.

For the millions of Panzer Dragoon fans who constantly asked the question, "Will there be a Panzer dragoon game for Dreamcast?" the answer is maybe. The reason this is such good news is that it was feared there would not be another Panzer game at all. With a couple of Team Andromeda's designers leaving to become part of General Entertainment (which produced the underwhelming Dreamcast game Pen Pen Tricelon), combined with the fact that Team Andromeda's web site hasn't been updated since the release of Panzer Dragoon Saga, many presumed that Team Andromeda had disbanded. According to a Sega representative: "Yes, they are still intact and help out on other projects from time to time. No information on what their current project is."

So, for anyone trying desperately to imagine what a Panzer game on the Dreamcast hardware would look like, keep trying. While this isn't necessarily good news, at least Team Andromeda's still around.

In unrelated news, Sega of Japan has not decided on a publisher for Frame Gride yet, with "yet" being the operative word. Continued play of this game has been addictive to say the least. The continuing effort to unlock more and more "frame pieces" is an alluring draw and would even be more enjoyable with an English translation. While a storyline would certainly help, the game is still strong enough to stand "as is." Check back for more details as we get them.
