TDK Mediactive has today announced that Star Trek: Shattered Universe, which has been in development for the PS2 for some time and was originally scheduled for release in 2001 through Interplay, is now also in development for the Xbox. The space shooter, which is being developed by StarSphere, is set shortly after the events of the Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country movie and will see you piloting one of the many one-man fighter craft assigned to Captain Sulu's USS Excelsior, which has become stranded in an alternate universe.

The game will feature 19 levels in total, and as you progress through the game and encounter legendary characters from the original TV series, you'll get to take control of no less than 10 never-before-seen fighter craft. We'll bring you more information on Star Trek: Shattered Universe, which is currently scheduled for release this fall, as soon as it becomes available.
