Bioware's expansion pack to one of last year's top games goes gold.

Tales of the Sword Coast, the expansion pack of last year's holiday smash hit from Interplay and Bioware, Baldur's Gate, has gone gold.

The expansion pack takes place at Ulgoth's Beard, the final conflict area of Baldur's Gate, and focuses on a chain of mysterious and previously inaccessible islands that sit off of the Sword Coast. Asides from the new areas, Tales of the Sword Coast will feature several plot lines and subplots, new artwork, stronger enemies, more powerful spells, new items and a higher experience cap.

Players who spent countless hours building up their characters need not worry, as Tales offers the option of either using your existing party or utilizing an advanced character bundled inside the game.

Tales of the Sword Coast is being published by Interplay's Black Isle Studios, and should start appearing across North American store shelves within the coming weeks.
