With E3 wrapped up for another year, and Sony basking in the warm glow of its press conference unveilings, the publisher has let loose news of a new edition to its hugely successful SingStar franchise.

Soon you too could be this cool...at home on your sofa.
Soon you too could be this cool...at home on your sofa.

SingStar Take That will be dancing its way onto PS2s and PS3s, following in the footsteps of other artist tie-ins in the series, including Singstar Abba and Singstar Queen. The new title will allow fans of the pop group to sing along with some of their greatest hits, including classics such as "Could It Be Magic" and "Back for Good" and their latest hit, "Shine." The game will be compatible with the latest SingStar wireless microphones and will be launching later in the year.

The PS3 version of the title should also support hot-swapping of discs from other games in the SingStar franchise, allowing players to rapidly move on from Take That’s back catalogue should the mood take them.

Eager singers will also be able to download a Take That track pack for the original SingStar on the PS3 that contains five songs from the game, which should be available before the game's release this summer. Sony will also be bringing the game on tour at selected Take That shows this year so fans will be able to get warmed up with a belting rendition of "Never Forget" before hearing the real thing on stage.
