Now Playing: Our Best Pokemon Go Stories - The Lobby

T-Mobile is capitalizing on the astonishing popularity of Pokemon Go by offering various freebies--including unlimited data while playing the game--as part of an upcoming promotion.

The phone carrier gives away rewards to its customers each week as part of "T-Mobile Tuesdays." This coming Tuesday, July 19, will bring it with a bunch of Pokemon Go-related offers. Here's what those in the United States can expect, the company says:

  • Free, unlimited data on Pokemon Go, so it won’t touch your high-speed data--for a full year
  • Free Lyft rides up to $15 to get to a new PokeStop or Gym
  • Free Wendy's Frosty to fuel up for your hunting trip
  • 50% off select accessories--including portable power packs and chargers at T-Mobile stores--so you can keep on playing for hours

250 people will also win $100 in PokeCoins, the game's premium in-game currency, and five more will win a "Pokemon Go hunting trip anywhere in the US for themselves and a guest."

The unlimited data offer is the most noteworthy of the bunch considering the game uses a large amount of data to play. Those who claim the freebie will not use their data allowance when playing through the end of August 2017. The offer can be claimed through the T-Mobile Tuesdays app on July 19, July 26, August 2, or August 9.

If your current mobile contract is up soon, it sounds like you'll have a chance to switch to T-Mobile and take advantage of this if you're planning to play a lot of Pokemon Go. Its announcement notes that "[n]ew and existing T-Mobile customers" are eligible for the free data
