Super Smash Bros. Characters' Games Discounted in Month-Long Sale

Each week from now until the launch of the new Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, Nintendo will be discounting games featuring characters from the upcoming fighting game.

The first week of sales includes games starring characters like Mario, Yoshi, and Rosalina. It's primarily Virtual Console games playable on Wii U and 3DS that are on sale, but there are also some original games for both systems, too. Among the highlights are Super Mario 3D World for $40, Super Mario Bros. 3 for $3.50 on Wii U and 3DS each (sadly, there is still no cross-buy support on Nintendo systems), and Super Mario 3D Land for $20.

These deals are now live, with subsequent sales starting each Thursday in September at 9 AM Pacific. Specific games for the next three weeks of sales have not been confirmed, but Nintendo has laid out which characters' games will be offered during which week.
