"All network services are unavailable at this time due to server maintenance," Nintendo said. "Please wait until the maintenance is over. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Super Mario Maker servers went down today, January 27, and will remain offline through Thursday, January 28 at 5 PM PST. All of the game's offline features will remain available during the server downtime.

Nintendo did not say why it's performing the server maintenance, though it's not uncommon for a game's servers to be temporarily removed for general upkeep.

By Nintendo's latest count, Super Mario Maker had sold more than 1.88 million copies worldwide. Additionally, players have uploaded more than 3.3 million courses.
