Today Nintendo announced that Super Mario Galaxy's Rosalina and her companion star-creature Luma have joined the roster for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. fighting game for Wii U and 3DS.

Rosalina is now the 19th confirmed playable character for the new Super Smash Bros. game, which will also feature a Super Mario Galaxy stage. Rosalina has never appeared in a Super Smash Bros. game before.

Other characters making their Super Smash Bros. debut in the new game include Wii Fit Trainer, Mega Man, and Villager. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS is due out sometime in 2014, but not spring.

Most recently, Rosalina appeared as a playable character in Super Mario 3D World and in racing games Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart 7.
