Things are buzzing in Camelot. Mythic Entertainment today released patch 1.79, which introduces new epic armor quests and accompanying dungeons, the title of "elder" (available to anyone who has been a subscriber since the game's first month of service in 2001), and a number of bug fixes and ability tweaks. A full list of the changes is available at the game's official Web site.

On a related note, the official site for Darkness Rising, the sixth Dark Age of Camelot expansion, went live yesterday. The site has new information on how players can acquire the title of "Champion of the Realm," new features such as the player-controlled horses, and an assortment of screenshots. Future additions to the site will include videos, downloads, and a preorder function.

Darkness Rising will be available in North America this October for $19.99 via digital download directly from Mythic Entertainment. For more on the expansion, check out GameSpot's first look at the game.
