Battlefront.com has announced that Strategic Command: European Theater, its upcoming turn-based strategy game, has gone gold and will soon be available for preorder. The game is set during World War II, and it includes six major campaigns that begin between 1939 and 1944 and can be played beyond the historical end of the war and into 1946.

Strategic Command features a traditional hex-based map that covers a theater of war that stretches from the east coast of North America to the Ural Mountains of Russia. Players in the game can command the forces of 25 different nations and have access to a wide variety of land, sea, and air units. In addition to the single-player campaigns, the game includes support for multiplayer matches and a complete campaign editor that lets players create custom scenarios.

Strategic Command: European Theater was developed by Fury Software and will be available for preorder beginning July 19 from the Battlefront.com Web site for a retail price of $25.
