Stranger Things Star Says "We Should Kill More People" On The Show

Actor Gaten Matarazzo offers up what he would change about the popular Netflix series.

Dustin Henderson might be fighting against Vecna in Stranger Things, but actor Gaten Matarazzo sounds like an ally to the villain in real life. That's because he wants the show to "kill more people."

According to CBR, Matarazzo chatted with fans and his Stranger Things castmates Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) as well as Grace Van Dien (Chrissy Cunningham in Season 4) at MegaCon Orlando over the past weekend. It was there where Matarazzo was asked what he would change about the Netflix series.

"It might sound messed up, but we should kill more people," Matarazzo replied to a fan question. "This show would be so much better if the stakes were much higher, like at any moment any of these kids can kick it. I feel like we're all too safe."

Matarazzo isn't the first Stranger Things star to share this suggestion. In fact, Eleven actress Millie Bobby Brown said the show needed "to be Game of Thrones" and kill off more characters a couple of years ago. This led to Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer pushing back against this criticism, with Matt saying: "This is Hawkins; it's not Westeros."

Stranger Things Season 5 is currently filming, and Brown has expressed her desire for the series to end. Meanwhile, the show's writers have described Season 5 in a very weird way, with the Duffer brothers promising it won't end as "all a dream." For more, check out GameSpot's Stranger Things 4 review.
