Update 1.0.2 makes Mythic ore appear in the mines and makes a quiet villager a bit more talkative.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town on the Nintendo Switch has received the 1.0.2 update, which addresses some minor issues with the cutesy farming simulator. The update fixes the appearance rate of Mythic Ore and adjusts a townsperson's dialogue.

As detailed on Marvelous Games Twitter account, the patch makes it so Mythic Ore now appears in the mines, so long as you have the blessed tools and reach level 60 in the mine. It also adjusts Brandon's dialogue so he now talks more than previously and, fixes some minor bugs and text issues.

This patch only pertains to the Nintendo Switch version of the game, as the Steam version is handled by Xseed Games. Marvelous Games also said on Twitter that there are no plans for any additional DLC for the game, beyond the costume packs currently available.

GameSpot gave the remake a 5/10 in our Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town review, with critic James Carr writing, "Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town feels closer to a remaster than a remake, with the majority of in-game mechanics feeling antiquated by modern standards. Shallow systems combined with inflated upgrade prices makes progress a slow trudge, with the rewards rarely feeling worth it. Interacting with the people of Mineral Town offers a nice, romantic look at small-town farm life, but the rest of the game fails to sell it."
