Netflix has released an official trailer for Friday's surprise digital cast reunion/table read of Father of the Bride 3 (ish). Specific details about the event and movie's plot are still sparse, other than the streamed reunion will take place September 25 at 6 PM ET/3 PM PT on Netflix's YouTube and Facebook pages. The event will also benefit World Central Kitchen, a not-for-profit non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. You can check out the trailer below.

Writer-director Nancy Meyer's 1991 Father of the Bride was a remake of the 1950 film with the same name. Meyer's more contemporary version starred Steve Martin (The Jerk), Diane Keaton (Annie Hall), Kimberly Williams (We are Marshall), Martin Short (Inherent Vice), and Kieran Culkin (Succession)--all of whom will be present and performing Friday.

As the title suggests, Father of the Bride--and its 1995 sequel--are about businessman George Banks coming to terms with letting his daughter Annie grow up and get married to Bryan MacKenzie, despite the couple only knowing each other for a few months. Based on the trailer above, the third movie seems to continue this story and also take place during the pandemic with characters in quarantine. It seems like it will be a source for the comedy in the revival rather than just window dressing meant to explain why they're all together.

In 2021, Hulu will be premiering Only Murders in the Building, a new series from Steve Martin and Martin Short. The pair are joined by Selena Gomez, who play "three strangers who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a murder occurs in their NYC apartment building, they are forced to work together to figure out what happened." Short and Martin have worked together before, including on The Three Amigos, which also starred Chevy Chase.
