Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for Lisey's Story, a new limited series based on Stephen King's 2006 novel by the same name. In addition to an impressive cast, one of the show's major attractions is that King himself will be writing each of the show's eight episodes.

Lisey's Story's official synopsis is as follows: "this terrifying thriller follows widow Lisey Landon as a series of disturbing events revives memories of her marriage to author Scott Landon and the darkness that plagued him." The series will premiere on Apple TV+ on June 4. Check out the trailer below to get a sense of how the prolific King adapted his own work for TV.

Oscar-winner Julianne Moore co-stars as Lisey, opposite BAFTA-winner Clive Owen as Scott. They are far from the only big names involved in the production, as JJ Abrams serves as producer. Lisey's Story also stars Joan Allen, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Dane DeHaan, and Ron Cephas Jones. The show is directed by Pablo Larrain, who previously directed Natalie Portman in the movie Jackie. Larrain also directed A Fantastic Woman, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Outside of TV series, Apple TV+ has signed major movies such as Killers of the Flower Moon from director Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. The streamer also has the movie Emancipation starring Will Smith coming up, along with a Napoleon Bonaparte movie starring Joaquin Phoenix from director Ridley Scott. Schmigadoon! and Ted Lasso are also Apple TV+ productions making the newer service and increasingly exciting streaming destination.
