Capcom has announced that Steel Battalion will ship to US stores in November. The game and its 40-button, three-piece controller will sell for a suggested retail price of $199.95.

"Steel Battalion is a video game unlike any other in that the special 40-button controller really makes you feel as if you are piloting a mechanized vertical tank," said Robert Lindsey, Capcom's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "Gamers haven't experienced anything like this before."

Steel Battalion is an unusually complex mech game that's designed to take advantage of a large custom controller. The controller's buttons light up, and the device is intended to make the game much more immersive. Steel Battalion has 12 levels, plus there are additional missions, maps, and enemies to unlock after finishing the game the first time.
