Here's when you can expect to save big on Steam.

Update: In a recent tweet, Steam confirmed the 2019 Winter Sale is starting today and will run for 14 straight days. Sure enough, the sale is now live, and to help you make the most of the occasion, we've assembled a list of the best Steam game deals under $10.

The date for this year's Winter Sale lines up with what was predicted in a leak earlier this year (some things never change).

Original story follows.

Although we're just a few weeks past the massive Steam sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, another big Steam sale is now just hours away. The dates for Steam's sales tend to leak ahead well in advance, and this year was no different. A tweet from Steam Database (@SteamDB), an account with no relation to Steam that tracks various information about the platform, leaked the dates for several of Steam's promotions this year that have panned out, which suggests the date for the upcoming Winter sale is also correct.

According to the leak, the Winter Sale dates will begin just before the holidays and end right after them. If it's true, you can look for the sale to begin on Thursday, December 19, at the usual start time: 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT.

Steam's remaining 2019 sale dates:

  • Winter sale: Dec. 19 - Jan. 2

You can expect tons of major discounts during Steam's upcoming Winter Sale. It's likely we'll see Resident Evil 2, Gears 5, Remnant: From the Ashes, Devil May Cry 5, The Division 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (GameSpot's 2019 Game of the Year), and several more major games on sale. You're also likely to find smaller games like Wargroove, Indivisible, Slay the Spire, and more for cheap as well, as well as Disco Elysium, which earned a 10/10 from GameSpot earlier this year. Many of these were on sale for the Autumn Sale, so there's no reason to believe they won't be on sale for the Winter Sale.
