What's MFI devices? If it doesn't work with the "smartdevice's" freaking TOUCHSCREEN (for games that don't need anything but a mouse on PC, at least), then it's pretty much useless.

It remains to be seen how well these apps will work, but if they're up to snuff, it could turn out to be a very nice perk for those who already use Steam.

I remember when i asked for these PC games on console, i was told our systems can't handle the games. Now it ends up you can play them on your damn phone lol. Guess i was lied too, again, by the PC Master Race.

Anyhow, being Xbox has a problem needing games, but have a system that could certainly play PC games, i can't see why Phil and Gabe can't come to an agreement, and provided a Steam app for Xboxers.

After all, they're using our Win program as their main platform. Make it happen, Phil.

I wonder if this applies only to mobile games, or complex hardcore games that could be played with touch controls, like the patient but punishing Xcom series, were combat is turn based (no time limit) and you click to send your squad to able directions.

Well this sounds pretty sweet.

I can only speak from personal experience using PS4 remote play to hit back at the lag naysayers below. I left my PS4 on standby recently connected to my home wifi went a couple of miles down the road to my friends house. I connected to their wifi using my Xperia Z5 phone and loaded the remote play app and connected my PS4 controller to my phone. Took a minute for my phone to turn on my PS4 and find it. We played Monster Hunter World online together my friend used his PS4/TV while I streamed my PS4 to my phone. Surprisingly there was zero lag and almost no delay on my controller inputs. Looking at the TV from my friends perspective there didn't seem to be any time delay... Considering Monster Hunter World is a game all about quick movement I hope this example proves how good streaming can be. And yes we beat Nergigante without dying.

Now this was running off an 20 mbps connection at home and my friend had a similar connection around 24 mbps. Upload speed around 10mps.

It sounds like an impractical gimmick if you ask me. I would rather carry a handheld or play games that are actually made for phones than attempt to stream a game that was meant to be played using KB/M to my smartphone which only has 3 physical buttons on it for power and volume.

This will end about as well as Steam Machines, I reckon. Just another of Valve's ideas which sounds like a good idea on paper, but is far less useful in practice, and requires game developers to design their games with the feature in mind for it to be even semi-viable, meanwhile they don't even want to patch their own games to make optimal use of the feature.

never mind the performance issues and lag that is going to occur from the streaming process, but people are not going to carry external controllers around with them in their pockets... gaming on mobile is a lost cause with a few exceptions.
