Xbox Game Studios' State of Decay 2 is finally making its way Steam. No concrete release date has been provided yet, but the game is expected to launch early next year on the platform.

The open-world zombie survival game, developed by Microsoft-owned Undead Labs, has received a plethora of DLC since its May 2018 launch on Xbox One. The latest, Heartland, came out during Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference and is billed as State of Decay 2's biggest expansion yet. The game's Steam store page currently makes no mention of whether this PC release will ship with all the game's DLC.

Now Playing: State Of Decay 2 - 5 Biggest Changes

It's worth noting that State of Decay 2 and its Heartland expansion are available through Xbox Game Pass. The game also supports cross-play between Windows 10 PC and Xbox One, though it's unclear if the feature will be supported when the game launches on Steam in early 2020.

In our State of Decay 2 review, we said, "State of Decay 2 settles into a rhythm that might be easy for you to pass some hours with, but it’s never a ride with genuine surprises, excitement or purpose. There’s promise in so many systems that it introduces, but they’re woefully underutilized to make space for repetitive activities that are nowhere near as exciting to engage with. State of Decay 2 feels like the lumbering enemies that populate its country mountains. Aimless, wandering, and just out of place."

BAD NEWS STATE OF DECAY FANS

~StateOfDecay-2 is a really bad game.

or to say that better~ it's a very different game then SOD-1

~In trying to improve on the awesome/addicting scavenging & improving community stats etc

SOD-2 misplace the magic that made the 1st one so much fun(Breakdown DLC)

**proof~ see the Xbox reviews. it's 77% NEGATIVE..

Fans are pissed about this game..

*I bought the more expensive pre order(like a F-T**d) not realizing Gamepass etc

but I thought ' no-way will I dislike SOD2 because of how much I loooved the original.

I played SOD-1 on the Xbox360, then again on the XboxOne and then revisited the game for

a second playthrough on the XboxOne. probably 500-600 hours of fun.

And ive maybe got 40 hours on SOD2..

IT'S JUST NOT FUN...

My warning to everyone is to remember Steams refund policy when you play it..

Most likely if you liked the original you will hate the sequel..

**Probably the biggest sequel let down for me..

Dead Island Riptide was pretty bad,,And maybe Destiny2.

Well Destiny was a major letdown from a Story POV but the Halo makers sure know Gunplay gameplay for sure..gameplay saved D2 imo..

***DEAD ISLAND RIPTIDE~ Anyone remember the Collector's Edition?

it only cost $10-$20 bucks more then standard edition. and STandard edition wa Already $10-$20 cheaper then the $60 full price of games.

Ya got the coolest mini suitcase EVER!!!

*I own two of these to this day one sits in my car on the passenger floor and te other one holds my Soewing kit..

*The Suitcase in the car is where I keep misc items like Flash drives for music,Knife,Mace, lighter etc etc.

The thing was the suitcase was surprisingly good quality..Something not very common today..
