"We're children of the sky / flying up so high / let me be that one / to find the brightest sun."

To help promote the launch of Starfield, Bethesda teamed up with the band Imagine Dragons to create an original song inspired by the game. The song is called "Children of the Sky (a Starfield song)" and the lyrics seem to riff on the themes and ideas from the game.

"We're children of the sky / flying up so high / let me be that one / to find the brightest sun," is one of the song's verses. "When we look back, what will we see? / We were a part of everything / up in the heavens, down in the seas / we were a part of everything."

You can listen to the song in the video below or stream it anywhere else you can listen to music.

Imagine Dragons previously wrote a song for the League of Legends TV series Arcane and performed it at The Game Awards. They are not the first high-profile band or musician to release original music for a video game, as Paul McCartney wrote a song called "Hope for the Future" for Destiny.

For those without Game Pass, Starfield preorders are discounted, so if you're planning to buy the game outright, now might be a good time to lock in your order. Everyone who preorders Starfield gets the Old Mars Skin Pack, which includes a variety of in-game skins. For more details on all available editions and what they come with, you can check out GameSpot's Starfield preorder guide.

You can start preloading Starfield on Xbox PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam now, as well as Xbox. Unsurprisingly, the game will consume a big chunk of storage space.

Starfield releases August 31 for the $100 Constellation Edition and the $35 upgrade offer, while everyone else can get started on September 5.
