Star Wars TV Show The Mandalorian Brings On Two More Big Name Directors
Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez announce they are directing episodes of the Star Wars show.
The Star Wars TV show, The Mandalorian, has added another big-name director for Season 2. Ant-Man director Peyton Reed is directing at least one episode of the season. He confirmed as much in a post on Twitter that showed the Mandalorian's helmet on his director's chair. [Update: Another Season 2 director, has been revealed. Robert Rodriguez, who directed Spy Kids and Sin City, announced his involvement in a tweet of his own which you can see below]
In addition to Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, Reed is known for directing 2000's high school cheerleading movie Bring It On and the Jim Carrey movie Yes Man.

Lucasfilm has gone all out in hiring big-name directors for The Mandalorian. Episodes of Season 1 were directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Cow, Rick Famuyiwa, Dave Filoni, and Taika Waititi.

In other news about The Mandalorian, Michael Biehn and Rosario Dawson have joined the cast for Season 2. The sophomore season recently wrapped principal photography ahead of its scheduled premiere in October. Lucasfilm is apparently very excited about continuing the show, as the company has already announced Season 3.
In wider Star Wars news, Lucasfilm has confirmed that Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi will write and direct a new Star Wars movie. Additionally, 1917 writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns is co-writing the movie.
What's more, Lucasfilm confirmed that Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland will develop a new Star Wars TV show for Disney+.
