Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi Show Casts PEN15 Star Maya Erskine
Erskine has joined the upcoming Disney+ series, which is currently in production.
The Star Wars TV show Obi-Wan Kenobi has added PEN15 star and co-creator Maya Erskine to its cast. The Disney+ series is currently in production in the UK.
As reported by Deadline, Erskine will have a supporting role in at least three episodes. No details about her character have been revealed yet. The actor was Emmy nominated in 2019 for the Hulu comedy PEN15, which she created and stars with Anna Konkle. Erskine also appeared in the comedies Plus One and Wine Country.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the titular Jedi Master, having previously played the character in the three Star Wars prequel movies. Hayden Christensen is also back as Anakin Skywalker, as are Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse as Owen and Beru Lars. New cast members include Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr, and Sung Kang.
The series is being directed by Deborah Chow, who previously helmed episodes of The Mandalorian. While plot details are currently underwraps, Lucasfilm has confirmed that the show will take place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. The casting of Edgerton and Piesse, plus leaked images of the set, suggest at least part of the show will be set on Tatooine. It doesn't yet have a release date.
