Once a headlining console exclusive on the original Xbox, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords is now coming to iOS and Android devices.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is one of the most acclaimed role-playing games of all time. It quickly spawned a sequel, helmed by Obsidian instead of original developer BioWare, that didn't find the same universal praise but still managed to tell a compelling story with some gameplay enhancements. If you've somehow missed out on it and still don't have a better way to play it, you can pick it up on iPad and iPhone for $15 on December 18. It will also be available on Android.

Knights of the Old Republic II picks up a few years after the events of the first game, introducing players to a new crew aboard the Ebon Hawk with their own issues to solve. It didn't stray far from the formula of the original, sometimes to a fault, but it does mean that the high bar BioWare initially set was well met by Obsidian in its follow-up. EA has since launched Star Wars: The Old Republic that continues multiple stories within the same age.

If you're still on the fence, be sure to check out GameSpot's original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II review from 2004. "It's just as important to note that no other game since Knights of the Old Republic has managed to deliver this excellent style of role-playing," wrote editor Greg Kasavin. "If you're a Knights of the Old Republic fan, then you should find a certain satisfaction in knowing almost exactly what you're in for going into The Sith Lords."
