It has been a year of non-stop high-profile releases, and if you're looking to grab one of the biggest games of the year before October's blockbuster season begins, then check out this deal on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. A direct sequel to 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Survivor for PS5 and Xbox Series X is currently on sale for just $40 at GameStop. These are brand-new physical copies as well, allowing you to once again wield the lightsaber and Force powers of Cal Kestis at a $30 discount. Amazon was matching this deal but is currently sold out of copies for both platforms.

Best Buy also has discounted stock of the game--which usually retails for $70--but you'll be paying a little extra here in case GameStop runs out of supply. At this retailer you'll be paying $50 for a copy, but that's still a substantial savings when compared to its standard MSRP. Plus, Best Buy offers free shipping at this price, whereas GameStop requires customers to spend $79 or more for free shipping. As such, those who are able to place their order online and pick up their game at a GameStop store will get the best value here, if you only want to buy Survivor.

Like Fallen Order, Survivor is essentially a Star Wars metroidvania played in a third-person perspective. It improves on the original game with several thoughtful upgrades. Kestis has new abilities that make him feel like a true Jedi Knight, and he stars in a sweeping tale that unfolds across the war-torn galaxy.

"Exhilarating lightsaber combat and physics-defying platforming puzzle challenges remain the best part of Respawn's latest Star Wars game, but Survivor also makes big swings with its story this time around," Jordan Ramée wrote in GameSpot's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor review. "Cal's quest takes him to new corners of the galaxy, but the most compelling journey he makes is an introspective one. Survivor is a very well-written tale about overcoming fear, and it's the Jedi story I've wanted for a long time."
