Star Wars: Jedi Academy Is Out Now On Switch & PS4, Episode 1 Racer Coming This Spring
Build your lightsaber, learn the ways of the Force, and battle in 16-Jedi multiplayer brawls.
Another classic Star Wars game has released on modern consoles, with one more on the way soon. Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is now available on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer is said to be coming later this spring.
Jedi Academy puts you in the role of a custom-created student under the tutelage of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. You'll progress down the path of the Force, earn new powers, and construct your lightsaber. You can also play online in 16-player matches including Siege, Capture the Flag, and Free For All. It costs $20.
Episode 1 Racer is based on the famous podracing scene from Star Wars: Episode 1--which is basically soapbox racing if the soapbox were attached to two gigantic rockets. No firm release date or price has been announced, but it was mentioned alongside the release of Jedi Academy.
Though Jedi Academy is available on both PS4 and Switch, Nintendo got the word out by giving it a highlighted spot in a surprise Nintendo Direct Mini presentation. The Star Wars game was one of four games released alongside the Direct, along with a demo for Bravely Default 2. The Direct also gave word of 2K game compilations, Burnout Paradise coming to Switch, and more.
