Star Wars Han Solo Spin-Off Image Teases New Vehicle

Go go Solo.

The Last Jedi has only been in theaters a couple of weeks, but another Star Wars movie is also due soon. Solo: A Star Wars Story is the second Star Wars spin-off, following 2016's Rogue One, and it arrives in May. The film is set to focus on the adventures of young Han Solo, and although we are yet to see any footage, director Ron Howard has released an intriguing new image.

The picture was tweeted by Howard as a New Year greeting. As with most of images that the director has released it doesn't reveal much, but it does suggest that Han might pilot a new vehicle--possibly some form of speeder. Check it out below:

Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, with Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Emilia Clarke also star. It hits theaters on May 25, 2018.

Solo was originally being directed by Chris Lord and Phil Miller, who also helmed The Lego Movie and the Jump Street films, but they were replaced by Howard in June. There were rumors that they were fired due to clashes with Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy and co-writer and Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan.

Although Howard joined the production only a few weeks before the end of the principle photography, reshoots continued for several months. In November it was rumored that he had reshot up to 80% of the film. The scale of the reshoots meant that at least one role had to be recast, with Paul Bettany replacing Michael K. Williams. A recent comment from Bettany confirmed that they were indeed more extensive than initially expected.

The subject of the third Star Wars spin-off has not yet been officially announced yet, but it is thought that it will focus on Obi-Wan Kenobi. Last month it was reported that the Obi-Wan film will start shooting in 2019, with Billy Elliot director Stephen Daldry helming. It's not known if Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan in the Star Wars prequels, has been in discussion with Lucasfilm to reprise the role, but he has previously expressed an interest in doing so.

There's a pair of teeny-tiny anorexic hipster legs in there... Not a hero's legs.

Where Star Wars movies I never wanted and don't give a damn about are concerned, I think I'm saving my money for the Sy Snootles origin story. where she grows up in the seedy, gang-infested slum of some backwater planet with her abusive, alcoholic father and her emotionally distant, overly critical mother, but she has dreams of singing, becoming a star, and we get to see her trials and tribulations as she goes on auditions, deals with space racism, begrudgingly has sex with a producer to get a shot, ends up with a drug habit, falls into doing porn, but then, thanks to a fat, blue elephant man who turns out to be the legendary Max Rebo, she makes her triumphant comeback and lands the gig in Jabba's palace, only to die on his barge when Luke blows it up. So, you know, basically Selena but with aliens.

i think this is most likely going to be the worst Star Wars to release yet. Everything i've heard regarding this movie seems like it's been really rough. Rogue One was a good surprise since I expected it to be awful. Hopefully Solo will surprise as well!

Obi-Wan movie better have Ewan McGregor if it is focused on a younger Obi-Wan. Heck he could probably even do an older version well by now also. He had to of been one of the best things about the prequels. He made a fantastic Obi-Wan.

The Force Awakens and the Last Jedi were both fairly disappointing, so my Star Wars hopes and dreams are mostly pinned on the spin-off movies. Rogue One was great; fingers crossed for Solo.

It's pretty obvious what's going on here, Solo is a straight white guy, so going on the current star wars trend Kathleen Kennedy wanted to introduce an LGBT love triangle between Han, Lando and chewie. just to please the SJW's. The previous directors said "no" hence their departure.

judging by the movie poster (if you've not seen it Han and Chewie are looking cute together) it looks like ol'Kathy got her way with Ron Howard.

But we shall see, it can't be any worse than The Last Jedi.

The reports that are coming in are saying that Lucas Films are already writing off SOLO due to 1. the disappointment of the lead actor's acting (they had to bring in acting coach) 2. the script is a mess and they already had to do 60% rewrite and reshoot. Also rumors are swirling that the head guy (Igor) isnt liking the director conflict with these films. So we will see
