Wherever there is war, there is someone looking to profit off it, even a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. That's the premise of the upcoming expansion to the Star Wars real-time strategy game Empire at War, which LucasArts today announced has gone gold.

The original Empire at War let players face off as either the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance in real-time strategy combat. For the Forces of Corruption expansion, developer Petroglyph added new units to both of the existing armies, but it also introduced a third playable faction in the form of a criminal fringe organization. Taking control of crime lord Tyber Zann, players can engage in all manner of unsavory dealings, including slavery, piracy, racketeering, kidnapping, and bribery.

Forces of Corruption will ship to North American stores October 24. For more on the game, check out the demo.
