Star Wars 7 Now the No. 3 Movie Ever With $1.73 Billion
It still needs many millions more to pass Titanic and Avatar, however.
The full global weekend box office numbers are in--and Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to soar.
Disney's sci-fi blockbuster pulled in $145.93 million worldwide this weekend, propelling its global box office figures to $1.733 billion. The Force Awakens is now the No. 3 movie of all time at the worldwide box office rank, passing Universal's Jurassic World ($1.669 billion), according to figures posted today on Deadline.

The milestone comes on the same weekend that The Force Awakens debuted in China, where broke records upon its opening on Saturday. Domestically, the film passed $800 million this weekend.
The Force Awakens still needs to generate many millions more to pass Titanic ($2.186 billion) and Avatar ($2.78 billion), which are the two biggest box office smashes in film history.
