Star Ocean dev taking PS3, 360 to End of Eternity
Sega signs on to publish futuristic fantasy role-playing game, according to Famitsu.
Earlier this month, Star Ocean developer Tri-Ace launched a teaser Web site for its latest multiplatform role-playing game, complete with a countdown timer presumably leading up to the game's reveal. And, with a solid 34 hours and counting left on the clock, scans of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu's multipage blowout for Tri-Ace's new project have surfaced online.
Titled End of Eternity, Tri-Ace's latest RPG is expected to arrive in Japan this winter. (Scans of the announcement were obtained by gaming blog Wii Everyday and translated by GameSpot.) It will be published by Sega for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
According to Famitsu's report, End of Eternity is set in a city in the sky and is populated by a technologically advanced society. The action will follow primary protagonist Zephyr, who, along with his friend Vashyron, finds himself mired in a struggle involving a female known as Test Body No. 20. As the story goes, Test Body No. 20 learns that she is a scientific experiment and escapes from her research facility just before she is to be terminated.
Famitsu's report did not delve too deeply into gameplay, though it did mention that End of Eternity will feature a "semi-real-time battle system."
