SquareSoft's Dew Prism Details

We've got the first details on Square's next action RPG for the PlayStation.

Comments

SquareSoft has been making subtle hints about a new adventure RPG in the works for the PlayStation over the past few months, saying that a demo would be packed in with the company's Legend of Mana. Many gamers assumed that the unannounced game could be Brave Fencer Musashiden 2 or a sequel to Chrono Trigger. Well, in this week's issue of Famitsu, Square solved the mystery with some details of its next game, called Dew Prism.

Being developed by the teams that had previously handled Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana in the US) and Xenogears, Dew Prism will feature a new type of action battle system. We don't have any specifics on it yet, but expect details to be revealed shortly.

Dew Prism gives you the choice between two characters to control - a boy named Lou and a princess named Mint. The game's story and scenarios will vary depending on which character is selected.

Squaresoft is planning on a fall release for Dew Prism. As previously mentioned, a demo of the game is currently planned to appear packed in with Legend of Mana when it releases this summer in Japan.
