Yesterday, GameSpot News reported that Square would be publishing nine games for Bandai's portable game system Wonderswan. Today, we've learned that the first four titles will be remakes from its popular RPG series - Final Fantasy I (NES), Romancing SaGa 1 (SNES, previously unreleased in the US), Seiken Densetsu 2 (SNES, the US title is called Secret of Mana), and Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon 2 (PS). The company also has plans to release sequels to these titles, as well as new Wonderswan-only original titles. Some of its future titles will be compatible with the Wonderswan network adapter called "Wonder Gate," and/or can be linked to either Sony PlayStation and/or PlayStation2 hardware through the peripheral called "Wonder Wave."

In the past, Bandai published Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon with the help of Square. This time, the upcoming titles will be developed and published by Square. The first four titles are scheduled for a release in April 2000 in Japan. Bandai plans to release the Wonderswan in fall 2000 in North America.
