Square Enix Weighs in on Rumored Rise of the Tomb Raider Sequel

No TR CAN'T go against Fallout 4 TR offers a 10 to 15 hours play experience whereas Fallout 4 offers over 400 hours of play expereince along with mods and Falluot 4 will come out to all platforms giving it a much larger audience. Fallout 4 has a huge fanbase who've been waitng for years for a new game. TR problems don't end there In addtion to having to face Fallout 4 it has to go up against Star Wars Battlefront anouther heavy hitter with a huge fanbase which comes out on ....yep you guess it Nov 10th. TR is DOOMED !

I am not fucking interested in Tomb Raider any more. I am no longer supporting the Tomb Raider franchise. greedy Square Enix Americas and Europe CEO Phil Rogers Has killed my passion and commitment to Tomb Raider by accepting a large some of money from Microsoft to exclude PlayStation and PC, so that Microsoft's lineup for 2015 looks "great" I am not happy with it at all and the more they say about as to why the decision to go with the timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft that it's for the good of Tomb Raider franchise the more pissed off it makes me. I am not buying Rise Of The Tomb Raider, and I am not buying none of Square Enix published games. The GREEDY publisher it dead to me.

what the hell! The game isn't even out yet!

Can we please wait for games to be out before sequels are announced?

Watch the sequel be a PS4 timed exclusive

Glad there might be a sequel in the works. I'm looking forward to it but I'm holding out until the PS4 version. I could buy it on X1, but I played the 2013 version on PS3 and PS4 and I want it to continue on that platform (also that I am very much am displeased with the exclusivity deal). Honestly what makes this super easy is that I'm going to have Tales of Zestria, Forza 6, Fallout 4, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Halo 5 keeping me very busy. If all those weren't coming out, I would probably have cracked and picked it up on the X1 at launch.

What I hope is that it SE have reasonable sales expectations for it only being on X1 for a bit and don't go canning the sequel because it didn't sell well and realize it's because this deal was a bad choice.

This makes me wonder if we'll ever see the 'adult' Lara ever again. Not that I don't enjoy the adventures of her younger days, but I do miss, among other things, the aristocratic demeanor she possesses in the old games.

Lately though, all Square Enix's thinking about is mullah....and lots of it since they're in a tight spot right now, franchise and fanbase be damned.

With the exhorbitant cost of their FF games on mobile and the constant, constant remasters/rerelease/remixes, Sqenix always came across as a money grabbing company. They're doing very little to disprove that.

I'm sure some nice analysts took a look and worked out how much they'd lose on PS4 sales by releasing a year later and how much they'd gain with the exclusivity payment and said it was a good idea. What that doesn't show though is damage to the company reputation, reduced public trust and a decrease in sales across all games in future because of that.
