Square Enix talks 1080p for Murdered on Xbox One/PS4 and why there's no Wii U version

Nooo way! So what you are telling me - and this is inspired - is that the games that are best on a given console are the ones that have effort put into them to make them run well on the console? I never would have thou-...oh wait...EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!

This is just getting stupid. First the excuse is "it's not powerful enough." Then we see X which has solid graphics, Project CARS coming to Wii U, Bayonetta 2 running at 1080p, 60fps, Mario Kart 8 looking good graphically and running at 1080p 60fps, and of course FAST Racing Neo confirming high end graphics (and they are a FIVE MAN indie team...FIVE). So now that that excuse is sounding suspect, they say this.*

Anyone buying this, let me pull the wool off your eyes: It has nothing - NOTHING - to do with power. If power determined who got the best third party support, then PS2 should have lost in its generation. But it didn't. Sega Master System from back in the day should have destroyed the NES. But it didn't. Cause it isn't about the power. It is all about the Benjamins, the clams, the cheddar, the bread, the bills, the bucks, the cabbage, the greenbacks, the Simoleons. It is ALL. ABOUT. THE MONEY. I'm not a Nintendo fanboy here; I'm just being real with you. If the Wii U started mopping the floor with the PS4 and Xbox One and 3rd party games on Wii U started raking in the cash (both unlikely, but let's roll with it), devs would suddenly, miraculously announce that they completey underestimated the Wii U and actually plan to fully support it now. It would be a freaking Christmas miracle. Cause it is all about the money.

But they can't SAY that. I mean, imagine the rage if SquareEnix or ANYONE came out and said "Hey, PC gamers, Wii U gamers, I know you love our games and stuff but you know what...SCREW YOU WE DON'T GET ENOUGH MONEY! And all we want is money and therfore won't bring the game to your platform." They would look like complete jerks; it would be a pr nightmare. So it is easier for them to just find a scapegoat, to blame "it's too tough to work with" or "it's not powerful enough" or some such thing. It's all a dodge people; they just don't want to sound greedy.

I'm just getting really tired of this coy crap. We all know it's about revenue. Come out and say it Square, we're big boys. And besides, it's not like we don't already know this about you in particular :P

*Not saying the Wii U is as powerful as PS4 and XB1. Only that it is capable enough to work with.

Having read this article, it will now have to get "9's" all around before I even think about getting playing it. I can play the numbers game as well.

Will be interesting to see how particle effects, fidelity and framerates are affected by this. Obviously MS is now mandating companies to go to 1080p at the cost of other performance factors.

Not defending Wii U, but it is on par graphically with PS3 and 360. If those consoles are good enough for this game, so should the Wii U be.
