Square/Electronic Arts' PlayStation summer launch campaign is off to a solid start with the release of Vagrant Story on May 16. - a game that has been perched at or near the top of retail sales charts since its release. As part of the campaign, Square/EA will release one PlayStation game every month this summer, leading up to the scheduled release of Parasite Eve 2 on September 12. Legend of Mana will arrive on retail shelves on June 18. Threads of Fate, an action/role-playing game, is scheduled to ship on July 18. Chrono Cross, the sequel to Chrono Trigger, will be released on August 15.

"We are ready to deliver some PlayStation fun this summer," said Kenji Mimura, marketing manager for Square/Electronic Arts. "We made a conscious decision to continue developing PlayStation titles through 2000 rather than shift our entire development focus to the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. There are millions of PlayStation consumers who are clamoring for new games on this system and we are going to give it to them."

In addition to the PlayStation monthly launch campaign this summer, Square/EA is also offering a pre-order promotion for Legend of Mana. Customers who pre-order the game will also receive a special music-CD-sampler. It contains five tracks taken from Legend of Mana. The same offer will be available for Threads of Fate and Chrono Trigger.
