Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over announced

Disney Interactive has announced that it'll publish Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over for the PC and Game Boy Advance in July this year. The two games, which are inspired by the upcoming movie of the same name, will be quite different and have been designed to appeal to gamers ages 6 and over.

"Kids who can't get enough of Spy Kids movies will truly enjoy Disney Interactive's Spy Kids 3-D Game Over video games," said Bob Picunko, director of marketing, Disney Interactive. "Each game packs industry-first 3D innovation and thought-provoking, breakneck challenges, enabling players to continue enjoying the spy-filled, action-packed adventure long after the movie has ended."

In the PC version of the game, players will have to save the world from an evil inventor by successfully completing three challenges he has devised for them. Battle sticks, cycle race, and lava surfing will, as their names suggest, all offer very different challenges. Successful players will be able to unlock bonus content, including character images and trading cards that can be viewed only using special 3D glasses packaged with the game.

The GBA version of Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over will see players assuming the role of veteran OSS agent Juni, who must rescue his sister Carmen from the evil Toy Maker. The game will feature four distinct worlds, including Platform World, Robocon World, Lava World, and Mega Racer World--each consisting of 12 individual levels. Moves available to Juni as he searches for his sister will include combo attacks, rocket boosters, triple kicks, and energy stealers.

The PC and GBA versions of Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over are scheduled for release sometime in July. We'll bring you more information on the games as soon as it becomes available.
