Ha ha, very funny, right? Well, as it turns out, Twisted Pixel was kind of serious. The developer confirmed as much in an announcement today, titled "By the Way, We Weren't Kidding About 'Splosion Man." According to the developer, 'Splosion Man follows the exploits of the titular hero, who was "born of plasma and flame in an underground military lab." 'Splosion Man has the unique ability of being able to explode on command, an ability that reduces the scientists he encounters to "chunks of ham and ribeyes."

According to Twisted Pixel, 'Splosion Man will feature both a story mode and four-player co-op for online or local action. Neither a release date nor pricing information has been announced.
