Splinter Cell, POP HD trilogies hitting Xbox 360?

I think it will fit the 360 just fine, which it would be cool for 360 owners to own the classics as well.

For everyone who thinks Blu-Ray Gaming is better, why are most of the PS3 games only 720p? Why do we have to install so many games onto the hard drive on PS3. I would rather change discs than have to install onto hard drive (Metal Gear Solid 4 for example)

@JasPlun actually it uses dvd9... basically a dual layered dvd. so it should fit on just fine or maybe a download/install.

If there's any justice left in the world, the PoP and SC HD compilations will hit the 360 (and PC), too. After all the so-called Xbox 360 "exclusives" that have been released for the PS3 versus the amount of PS3 "exclusives" hitting the 360... ugh. The amount of Wii (and especially the ol' GameCube) "exclusives" that have been released on the competing consoles is so far gone, I don't believe there's any amount 3rd party justice that could be brought to Nintendo's situation. What a crime. This whole console exclusivity selling point has been so horribly abused over the years that these game companies could be labeled as having out right lied to the consumers with little to prove otherwise. It's gotten way out of hand. Now a days, we have various exclusive pre-order DLC offered through multiple retailers as an incentive with no guarantee any of it will be available for purchase later. Which, unfortunately they typically aren't. So basically we are being forced to choose an exclusive character, weapon, item, etc. based on where we buy the title? The upcoming Mortal Kombat title comes immediately to mind.

If someones already put this, I'm sorry. All of the collections the PS3 have had so far were for exclusives to past PlayStation systems. Splinter Cell and PoP were not, so it would make sense and be fair to put them on the 360 too.

Well Valve fit five games on one disc the orange box, and Nintendo fit 3 metroid prime games on on disc, so I reckon Prince and Splinter Cell trilogy would fit on one DVD

This makes sense if PS3 is getting some love we want some too on the x360; some of us were not into gaming during the release of this alleged classic awesome master pieces so I wann see what all the noise is all about , except for Sands of Time which I played a lil on the ps2 I ant play non of those

or perhaps they gonna sell em seperate....aka NOT a collection.

Prince of Persia HD trilogy looks good since I never got those games, but I already got the Splinter Cell games. Chaos Theory is still the best Splinter Cell by the way.

I'm fine with this, but if the 360 version obviously ends up better I'll kill myself. I have 35 360 games and 5 PS3 games because of multiplatform difference, if they expect us to buy PS3 games how am I supposed to do it if dev's are too lazy to optimize games for the damn console? Do it like Dragon Age, where PC>PS3>360. Now THAT made sense, didn't it?

@ JasPlun its still using DVDs........the HD DVD was for a very very short time (just a couple of weeks after the release of the HDDVD player it was slashed) it was not used for games it was just for movies

If my memory is correct the xbox is still using HD DVD not your regular DVD's.The format was not picked up as the main platform for movies etc.

I love POP...but it comes out when Crysis 2 does.

I'm also curious as to why some of you think a BlueRay version is any differant from a DVD. Sure the BR can hold more data... but how many games have been on multiple disks on the Xbox after 5 years? The last year has seen games come out on 2-3 disks... and they work just fine. In many cases games that come out on both Xbox and PS3, the Xbox version scores higher. The only benefit to BlueRay over DVD is its larger capacity, that has nothing to do with content quality or output. So again... just curious why these BlueRay editions are so nessecary?

LOL well for those of you that are making your sarcastic comments about MS.... Yes they have wised up. They figured out that people would pay for these updated titles. So, like any good buisness they changed their mind and are now offering these up for those that didn't get to play back when they had a PS2. I'd say that is a big + in MS column showing that they are willing to change with demand unlike Sony has been this gen. Just look at how hard Sony is going after some guys that found security flaws in their system. No talk about fixing it on their end, just trying to ruin the lives of guys apparently smarter than them. LOL

Microsoft stated they thought it was a waste of money rereleasing classic titles. So it has to be a clerical error or Microsoft finally wised up.

I personally would like an HD port of the Onimusha trilogy just the First 3 I really don't care about Dawn of Dreams.

I find this hard to believe considering M$ stated themselves that there not interested in HD remakes.

Maybe if it is true they will probably release POP Splinter Cell for PC later this year or maybe next year as for DMC i want the collection too but it is still a rumor

Us Hardcore Gamers would like a DMC and a Metal gear bluray disc compilation....this is a must happen, but i am stoked that a splinter cell in coming back and on bluray....this is sweet news.

my Q is, they will release it as XBLA, 1 game at a time, no disc compilation?

@GatsuBlackSword I think, but I'm not quite sure, POP SOT HD is already on the PSN... But again, I'm not sure. Maybe I was fuming because I couldn't buy the God of War games individually without subscribing to PS plus and the anger clouded my vision. Either way... I AGREE. 8D

Well, they were multiplatform to begin with, so it only makes sense that they stay that way. I already heard Ubisoft's Beyond Good and Evil HD was going to both consoles so why wouldn't these? I'm still gonna get 'em for the PS3, but this is good news for all.

Nothing wrong with that, it's good that the 360 owners get to share the wealth.

They need a Metal Gear Collection. Also, they should make an HD remake collection with many of the best RPGs from the PS2.

That would be great because I love replaying the Splinter Cell games. It's my favorite series, even having both systems I would like to see it on xbox.

@ikhzo I'd go nuts if they make a Devil May Cry or Metal Gear Collection.

HD is such a gimmick. The PoP games look a tad better, but the port is so poor. Character models look weird and the sound is awkward. But maybe it was a screwup on Ubisoft's part. Good buy if you haven't played them already.

Good new, I suppose. I want to hear more about Splinter Cell 6, though.

POP T2T was really great,.... while about splinter cell i will prefer my old SC rather than Conviction.... The STRATEGY background was absent....
