Ubisoft reported a significant sales spike in its first-quarter fiscal results today, but it wasn't all good news from the French publisher. In addition to the simple facts and figures, the company also announced a delay for the next installment in one of its biggest series.

Originally scheduled for release between October and November, the Xbox 360 and PC stealth action game Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction has been pushed back a quarter; Ubisoft now expects the game to see release by the end of March 2008. It could have some similarly themed company on the new-release shelves, as Ubisoft's newest Tom Clancy brand extension, EndWar, is set to arrive on next-gen consoles in spring of 2008.
