Spider-Man 4 With Tom Holland Is Being Written Now, Marvel Boss Says

We have the story. We have big ideas for that," Kevin Feige says.

A fourth Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland is in the works and the story is being written now, according to Marvel boss Kevin Feige. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Feige didn't have a whole lot to say, but he did comment on the film and clarified how it's coming along.

"All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now," Feige said.

Holland has starred in three standalone Spider-Man movies thus far, including Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). A fourth movie with Holland was always expected, but given the actor's comments about taking a break from acting, fans have been wondering what his status is.

In 2022, producer Amy Pascal said fans can expect to see Holland play Spider-Man at least three more times. That has yet to be confirmed, however.

Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man's theatrical appearances and the company works in partnership with Marvel on some Spider-Man films. There was a period of time when Sony and Marvel hit an impasse over Spider-Man's existence in the MCU, but the two eventually agreed to terms.

As for Feige, it recently came to light that Marvel's top boss wanted to fire him years ago, but Disney's Bob Iger stepped in to stop that from happening.

The next MCU movie is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which kicks off MCU Phase 5. Regarding Phase 5, Feige told EW, "I would say in very generalized terms, as you see in Quantumania, it's about setting up the big overarching thread that will go through the next phases."

GameSpot's Quantumania review scored the movie a 5/10. "It's not a bad movie, per se, which is on some level probably a credit to the Marvel machine. But it definitely isn't a good one, and certainly not what Marvel needed to jumpstart a new phase in the MCU and give it a North Star to move towards," reviewer Phil Owen said.
