Shrapnel Games today announced that its upcoming remake of the classic strategy game M.U.L.E. will be released on August 5. This slight delay is due to "printing and duplication issues."

"This is our first product to be printed in a DVD case format, and due to this we have had some issues with the duplication folks," explained Richard Arnesen of Shrapnel Games. "These have been cleared up, and the new ship date appears to be solid. It won't be too much longer now before people can start trading resources."

Space HoRSE, which has been developed by Gilligames, supports up to four players, as did the original Atari 800 and Commodore 64 versions of M.U.L.E. from the 1980s. The game seeks to improve upon the original through the introduction of modern graphics, rendered cut-scenes, and the promise of additional species' being made available for download in the future.

Space HoRSE is now available for pre-order direct from Shrapnel Games for $29.95, and for players who just can't wait to try the game, there is a 560992demo available in which three of the seven species can be played with for up to five turns.
