Sony's US arm has formally announced the impending North American release of Siren, a survival horror game developed in Japan by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game is currently scheduled to be released sometime in April.

In Siren, players will take on the roles of 10 different characters, all of whom are fighting to survive in a Japanese village where the everyday inhabitants are morphing into evil creatures. The game is going for psychologically styled scares, rather than taking the blood-and-guts approach of most games in the genre. Siren will have 78 different missions, in all.

We'll have more details on Siren soon.
