Sony Teases "Special Announcements" For PSX

Are you ready for it?

Sony's annual PlayStation Experience event is coming up very soon. The show takes place December 8-10. But what can you expect in terms of news?

The company has now given some indication of that, telling fans on its blog that they can expect some "special announcements." We're not expecting the PSX keynote to contain the volume or calibre of the announcements at E3 or Paris Games Week, but there will still be some news, it seems.

"Though PlayStation's biggest 2017 announcements were revealed at E3 and Paris Games Week, we've saved a few stocking stuffers for Friday night," Sony said, referencing the keynote address. "Expect to listen in on candid discussions with some of PlayStation's top developers, get updates on key titles, and be a part of some special announcements."

Last year's PSX was a big one for announcements. The Last of Us: Part II, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and Knack 2 were among the titles officially revealed for the first time during the show.

Sony also announced some of the PSX 2017 panels. There will be panels focused on PlayStation VR, LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule's new game Dreams, and an especially cool-sounding one for Sucker Punch's new game, Ghost of Tsushima, in which the studio will talk about how the game came to be from conception to its reveal. There will also be a panel that celebrates Uncharted's 10th anniversary, along with a panel for The Last of Us: Part II where writer/director Neil Druckmann, co-writer Halley Gross, and actors from the game will discuss the making of the gory Paris Games Week trailer.

Go to the PlayStation Blog to see a full rundown of the panels and when they're held. The keynote address and some panels will be streamed live, so keep checking back with GameSpot for more. What are you hoping gets announced at PSX this year? Let us know in the comments below!
