If you're in the UK, desperate to pick up a PlayStation 4 at launch, and didn't preorder the console in time, Sony will be offering customers the chance to buy a unit from its PlayStation lounge in Covent Garden on Thursday night.

An unknown supply of machines will be available on a first-come-first-served basis at Sony's #4ThePlayers event in its swanky London pad at 17 Bedford Street, Covent Garden, WC2E 9HE. Customers will be able to queue from the start of Thursday.

Sony will buy those who choose to wait in line slices of Domino's pizza and cans of Red Bull, with all attendees also encouraged to watch a performance from rapper Tinie Tempah.

"Day one PS4 preorders sold out in record time and this could be the last chance for anyone who wants to get their hands on a console before Christmas,” said Sony Computer Entertainment UK MD Fergal Gara.

“We really wanted to offer some way for people to buy on launch day, and this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone that hasn’t already pre-ordered to get their hands on a PS4 on day one. The excitement in the run up to our UK launch has been phenomenal, and we want to thank gamers for their support by giving them the chance to take a PS4 home at the earliest opportunity.”

The PlayStation 4 will cost £349 in the UK, and will be released across Europe this Friday, November 29.
