Sony Injunction Against Bleem! Denied

PC PlayStation-emulator developer leaps major legal hurdle.

Bleem! president David Herpolsheimer gave GameSpot News a call this afternoon to confirm that Sony's preliminary injunction against his company, which develops a PlayStation emulator for the PC, was dropped last afternoon. The ruling came down from Judge Legge of the 9th District Federal Court in San Francisco, Calif., late yesterday.

"This was a major hurdle for us," sighed Herpolsheimer. "Sony had all the weapons on their side this time - source code, object code, all our internal e-mails, and several depositions from Randy, and they still couldn't make a case against Bleem!"

Since Bleem! became available to the public back in March, Sony has filed three temporary restraining orders - two of which were denied, while the third wasn't even heard by the courts - in an attempt to stop the PC PlayStation emulator from hitting the retail sector. Yesterday's denial of the injunction means clear sailing for Bleem! until its court date with Sony, which is currently scheduled for April 24 of next year. Herpolsheimer is confident that his company will win, again.

In the meantime, Bleem! can be found at a number of Fry's Electronics across North America, or it can be purchased directly from Bleem!'s web site.
